Well I found new pics and specs of the 5870 series. The new cooler design looks pretty to me. hopefully this is the final design of the coolers. As you already know the 5870 sports up to 3 different types of display ports, DVI, Display port , and HDMI built in. which should ho nicly with ATi's new Eyefinity. The 5870 should be quite a monster with 1600 stream processors, a core clock of 850 Mhz, and 1GBs or 2GBs of 256-bit memory which runs at 1200 Mhz. This will all fit on a 40nm die with over 2 billion transistors, Which translates to just over 150GB/s bandwidth. Amazingly the 5870 will run at just under 28 watts when idle and under 190 watts at max load which it very impressive performance to watt ratio . So what will you be dropping on this monster definatly less than $399, more likely $350 but no one knows quite yet. Well what about the 5850 you say? It will have a respectable 1440 SP, a core speed of 700, and a memory speed of 1000. it will be released for under definatly $299. Finally the 5870 x2 will be released mid October as usual doubling everything on the 5870. Just imagine 3200 Shader processors,and 4GB of memory. there will defiantly will some 3dmark scores broken upon it's release. Also new is the new AA/AF algorithm which should increase AA/AF performance so ATI once again will probably rein supreme on AA/AF performance. Well Nvidia better surprise me as so far it isn't looking too good for them. So look around Sep. 23 for the Release of these new cards as i know i will be buying one.Edit: just found these on a forum
Crysis Bench
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955BE
Win 7 RTM Win 7 RTM
VGA:HD5870 1GB VGA: HD5870 1GB (core frequency is higher than the retail version)
Crysis 1900x1200 4AA+16AF DX10 Very High Crysis 1900x1200 4AA +16 AF DX10 Very High min:30.** min: 30 .** avg:43.** avg: 43 .** max:54.** max: 54 .**
Crysis has finally been conquered what amazes me is this got higher scores than the 4870 x2 on very high with 4x AA and 16 AF and thats just the 1GB version

at first:
they look very cheap because their outside looks very bad
2.:
i think you may get heatproblems with them because they slot where it heat should come out is very small.
3.:
Eyefinity and cool cards doesnt fit in my opinion--> to many connectors means not enough space for hot air to come out!

They better have some awesome super cooling or that card will burn..

Its not the finished article judging by the pic.
Doubt there will be any heat problems with it being 40nm, but I hold judgement until it comes out.
As for number three, see above.
