I have been pondering this concept for quite awhile.

What does it mean to be a "HardCore Gamer?"

I want definitions/opinions from everybody.  Nobody is wrong in this.
I want to be able to clearly define What a HardCore Gamer is for RTW.

I'd say you need to span all platforms or else your just a biased Hardcore "whatever system you have' fanboy,
and to respect each system for its pro's and features and exclusive games.

consoles were better when i was a kid, xbox 1 and n64 were the ****. but PC really can do anything you want it to. you can use it for a game machine, work tool, home theater system, whatever your budget allows. its the ultimate entertainment device in terms of function and customizability. there are a few console-specific games, but i just go to a friends house when a halo game comes out.

ill play any platform.. however i will never pay for a console or own one unless i receive it for free

consoles to me are more for fun than competitive...
competitive side does exist in consoles however just a bit hard to take seriously.. ROFL

i think the definition of hardcore gamer is the number of hours per week spent playing games.

like someone playing 5 hours a week but is playing all types of games (like #5)....thats not hardcore lol
but some one playing 40 hours a week is quite hardcore.... this can happen on all #1-5

Playing consoles is not hardcore, but I do play it.

PC is hardcore.
A hardcore gamer is one who is just madly skilled in games like cs(s) and plays it for maaany hours a day

A hardcore gamer has beated the original Mario(no warp pipes!) AND the original Zelda.Nothing else matters. :3

I voted for #5 because not all console games are bad. Id bet console's are what got most of us started in gaming. I do use my PC to game more. I used to play consoles all of the time when I was younger. I still will play a console if its a good game or I'm with my friends because its fun to pwn your friends in CoD or show em up in Wii Tennis (yup, I said it). But as I said before, I use my PC. Its even more fun to get in a game online with your friend on PC and work together.

ok, i play both on console and computer, my current computer is **** so i cant play modern games on it. so i mainly play cod4 and other games on the console. oh, and i play on game battles (that's like non-pro competitive clan matches) with those console games.

i also play on the computer alot, like CS:S and garrysmod.
